Documentation Packages

Ok so I really dont consider my self a linux n00b, but this is definately a n00bish question. I am running unbuntu studio and I have installed numerous documentation packages. My question is how to I access and use these things. I looked in their installation directory and all I saw was a bunch of zipped files.

Just as an example I installed abinit-doc.
Tried looking at man pages for the program and tried looking in help and support but found nothing.

There's certainly a way to list the content of packages
on the *buntus? No idea what front-end you're using, but
have a look around as to which files come with the package,
maybe read the package description as well.

Cheers,
Tink
