DNS setup for 2 node RAC database

Dear Linux Experts,

Host : Windows
Guest : Linux 6.8

I am planning to install 2 node rac on top of OL 6.8 (Laptop)
2 Linux machines are running on top of Vmware Workstation.

Do we need 3rd server to configure DNS setup ? or
Should i configure DNS setup in both nodes ?

Thanks in advance .

Do you mean OEL 6.8 as the Guest? CentOS 6.8? RHEL 6.8? And again, you have been advised NUMEROUS times in the past to get the LATEST versions of things. And 6.8 isn't the latest for ANY of those listed. If you're going to ask for advise, it would be good if you actually took it.

You said here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...0/#post5719061

..that you are an Oracle DBA. Since you are, you should (again) know the requirements of installing such software, where to get the documentation (Oracle's website), and what they recommend for getting RAC up and running. It doesn't matter where the DNS is set up, as long as you can resolve hosts...and even then, do you NEED DNS??? For three machines you could just have them defined in /etc/hosts....but again, you're the DBA and know what the requirements are.
