Disable DHCP at bootup

I've been looking around at this forum for some time now which has became quite a good source learning the linux system, so a great thanks to all members at LQ!

However I do have a issue that I can't seem to solve, haven't found any solution for this yet - at least not for Slackware. I need to disable the DHCP client from starting up during bootup, and has only found details on doing this for Red Hat so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If this is still an issue, check /etc/rc.inet.* for a line with something like "dhcpcd" in it and comment it out. That should do it AFAIK.
