Difference between Archive and Compression ?


hi,

What is the difference between Archive and Compression ?

You probably know sleeping bags to go camping ...

If you stuff your sleeping bag loosely in it's outer bag, so that it's taking the same amount of space but is easier to carry along, this is an archive.
If you do the same but have a bag that has straps and locks that allow you to crunch it together, so that the sleeping bag takes about 2/3 or 1/2 of it's original space/volume, that is compression.
