Dial Up Status Indicator

I finally got my modem to work under red hat so this is my first post to linux questions actually using linux!

So question 1 is there a way to set up a dial up status indicator (like in windows) that gives a little display of uploading and downloading?

Thanks,

Nathan

If you're using KDE as the manager, when you set up the dialer, on the Misc tab there's a check box that says "Dock into panel on connect".
Check it on. That will give the modem lights by the clock.
If you right click that, and select "details", it gives a graph of transmission rates.
