df and kdiskfree show different readings and missing disk space

when I do df it says:

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 14421344 1681096 12007688 13% /
tmpfs 128500 0 128500 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda3 103257112 15241216 82770676 16% /home
tmpfs 128500 104 128396 1% /dev

However when I run kdiskfree it says:

hda1 is 13.8gb (i told it to give me 15 gb furing the install) and has used 16.7%
hda3 is 98.5gb and that it has used 19.8%

Now which one is displaying the correct output?

Is it not detecting some disk space here?

because even when I add on my swap space to the figures given by kdiskfree it still only comes to 112.937 gb and i have a 120 gb drive. Even when I add up all the sizes of the partitions and the swap it still does not come to 120gb (this could be me being rubbish at math).

Does anyone see anything wrong with this, or is correct? If there is something wrong what do you suggest, would formating the entire drive with dban and then creating the partitions from scratch again sort out the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Michael.

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 1824 14651248+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 1825 1886 498015 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hda3 * 1887 14946 104904450 83 Linux
