Desktop icons gone


[SIZE="3"]. I have Precise
Puppy 5.7.1 on USB stick running on Dell Laptop Latitude D620. Suddenly all icons are missing on desktop. At bottom of screen Menu icon is present but nothing else. I can right click on screen and the menu with contents will appear . Can someone help me to restore the desktop icons. Please make directions simple as possible . I am not real knowledgable about os

My only guess, since I don't know for sure, is that you are looking at a different workspace. You could try right-clicking on the desktop and if a menu opens look for options referring to workspace or window or desktop. Particularly those that say next or previous. Keep choosing next (or previous, but don't alternate), until you see your icons.

As well, Puppy seem to have some support options, listed on http://puppylinux.org/main/Get20more%20information.htm, which may be more helpful to you

Following ITWilliams' thought process.
Down by the menu button you should see a workspace chooser: Looks like a couple gray squares next to each other.
Click on each of the squares and see if you get your main workspace back with one of them.

Alternatively you can press <ctl>+<alt>+<Left Arrow> until you get it back

Vegan--thanks for reply. I have printed this out in case I ever need it again. I did not try this because I gave up and re-installed Puppy prior to receiving your reply . Up and running fine. Once again I truly appreciate your input and the time you took to help me.
