Question Deleted default login account, now stuck on timer (no login)

hello to all, i have been using linux for about 3 months and loving it. all my questions have been answered by a quick google search but for this problem i cannot find the right search field or way to explain correctly cause no results relate to what happened to me, although the solution is pretty basic im sure.
anyway, i had a admin as a default login without password and since i always use root. i decided to delete the account and reboot but after linux loads it stops at the timer (where the account would normally load) how can i fix this?

Linux 3.7 / GNOME / amd64 / HDD install
TOSHIBA Satellite T115D-S1125 AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325

Hi,

it might help if you tell us what distro you are running.

Anyway, you should still be able to log in as root on the console and make a new user. Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1, this should give you a login dialog. Log in as root and then use adduser or useradd to create a new user.

BTW, it is very bad practice to use the root account as you usual login. It is even worse if you do this in a graphical environment.

You need to create a user, and it's a really bad idea to be root.
