Debian 10 buster No sound..

So I'm back,

Currently dual booting windows 10 and debian 10.
Soooo, My sound works perfect on windows 10 so I know its not a hardware port issue.

When I open pavucontrol I can see the firefox sound meter thing bouncing while playing a youtube video if thats any indication but I hear absolutely nothing.

Any ideas? Willing to try whatever including purging and reinstalling things or whatever.

It may be just an omission, what did you find under the "output devices" tab in pavucontrol?

That is truly odd. It I'm interpreting these correctly, pavucontrol thinks that sound is being sent to those devices.

Given that the audio works with Windows. I got no easy answers.

What is the audio chipset in that machine?

even more mind boggling to me is the fact that audio WAS working last I checked a few weeks ago. (I work out of state)
The only things ive done on it was update today and use wine at one point.

Code:
$cat /proc/asound/cards

 0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xf7210000 irq 28
 1 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xf7080000 irq 17
 2 [C920 ]: USB-Audio - HD Pro Webcam C920
HD Pro Webcam C920 at usb-0000:00:14.0-4, high speed
 3 [Device ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio Device
C-Media Electronics Inc. USB Audio Device at usb-0000:00:14.0-5, full speed
 4 [MICTEST ]: USB-Audio - MIC_TEST
ABC MIC_TEST at usb-0000:00:14.0-6, full speed
Is there any steps you can think of to try a fresh setup?
i.e

sudo purge pulseaudio*
sudo purge alsa*
etc?

I am completely at a loss. I have been using distros with Pulse Audio for years (not saying I'm a fan of it or of its creator) and never encountered anything like this. I would be hesitant to try something so drastic as you suggest at this point.

If it were me, my next step would be to boot to a Live CD/USB of some distro that uses Pulse (which is most of them at this point) that's not Debian-based and test again. If the audio works, then it would be clear that something has gone screwy with your Debian install. As an aside, I'm running Debian Buster/Sid on a ThinkPenguin laptop (new purchase--my old laptop was showing signs of age, but I have had it so long I don't know how long I have had it and, as my old auto mechanic would have said, it doesn't owe me a dime) and the audio is working just fine.

I also hope that someone more knowledgeable than I joins this thread.

Drove me crazy until I fresh installed. Changed all passwords and plan to rotate them now in case someone snuck on and messed with my pc while I wasn't home. Appreciate everyone's help!
