dd client configuration - error message WARNING: skipping host .....

I am trying to set up a vpn using a raspberry pi and have a problem setting up the ddclient
I type in sudo nano /etc/ddclient.conf
and in the box that opens I have copied and pasted the following, and then entered my specific details:
ddclient.conf

#I left these things at their defaults
daemon=1200 # check every 20 min
syslog=yes # log update msgs to syslog
mail=root # mail all msgs to root
mail-failure=root # mail failed update msgs to root
pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid # record PID in file.

#tell ddclient how to get your ip address
use=web, web=ip.changeip.com

#provide server and login details
protocol: dyndns2
server: nic.changeip.com
login: queenstdot
password: xxxxxxxxxx

#specify the domain to update
#for changeip.com, this can also be *1 or *2
# for your "DynSets"
queenstdot.dynamic-dns.net

I then save and type in sudo ddclient and get the following error message:
WARNING: skipping host: queenstdot.dynamic-dns.net: 'login=' is an invalid login.

Any help would be appreciated!

I think your problem is you are using ':' instead of '=' in your config file.

From ddclient website itself

Code:
A typical configuration like:
# /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf
#
protocol=dyndns2
use=web
login=mylogin
password=mypassword
myhost.dyndns.org
