Daul Boot Windows 2KPro and Mandrake 10

I recently rebuilt a P4-500 Mhz pc with 160mb ram on an 80gb HD that I partitioned into 4-20gb NTFS drives. I have install W2KSP4 in the first partition and would like to install Mandrake in the second one using the remaining two partitions for swap/storage in a dual boot environment any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
landsurveytech

What kind of suggestions? Like, just install it It looks like you're ready to go. The installation program will probably need to change an NTFS partition to a linux-compatible format but it'll do automatically. Read the installation documentation on the mandrake site. Backup all data you want to keep!

Futhermore, linux uses its own filesystem. Delete the partitions you created for linux and let the installer take care of everything. Use a FAT32 partition for sharing data between the two OS's

Yes. You will end up with a screen that asks you what you want to do at every startup.

***Make sure you have Mandrake 10.1 Official and not 10.0*** Otherwise, you need to change a bios setting for the dual boot to work. (specifically- change your hard drive read write to LBA under your bios menu)
