Custom SNMPD

we have created a custom SNMPD and can run it successfully on RHEL5 manually. We would like to now replace the standard SNMPD in the system startup scripts and such that our custom SNMPD is restarted if it were to shutdown and comes up when the system restarts. Being a bit new to this, where do I look for the scrips where I should place my SNMPD programs name in?

Thanks for all the assistance.

Hello and welcome to LQ. Hope you like it here. SysV initscripts are in /etc/rc.d/init.d and configured easiest with 'chkconfig'. If you have snmpd installed as example just copy the /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd to /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd_custom for example, edit that (and any /etc/sysconfig/snmpd_custom if required) and use chkconfig to stop the original from starting and adding yours to the list.
