Angry Cursor (cursed) problems

I am currently running Red Hat 7.3 on a Gateway Solo 9100 laptop mounted on a docking station. I am connected to the Internet via ADSL. I am using a Logitec USB Trackball as a mouse. The installation of Red Hat went very smoothly...I was quite impressed. I selected Gnome and Mozilla to use. After the install I connected to the Internet, hit the second page on the web site and had the cursor freeze up on me. That happened at three different web sites. I then went to the help pages, got into them, and had the cursor freeze up again. I had this same problem previously with Konquerer under Mandrake. The thing that makes it difficult for me to understand is that everything works well until I get into the second or third page of the secondary resource. I would appreciate any suggestions.
