counter-strike through proxy server

hey guys, i know that this has most likely been asked a thousand fucking times, but hey, i couldnt find a post. i was considering making a linux box firewall and proxy server to network my room. i fix computers and stuff and also am a big gamer. i always have at least 2 computers that will play at least 1 of the same games, so basically me and my friends game alot. i was wondering if games like counter-strike and bf1945 can be played on widows through a proxy server using squid. i know they can play on windows, im just wondering if squid will let them. i know that the windows home network shit actually works with it, but its not good at boot on lan and that shit. so, any advice?
thanks to all those that help
