convert user passwords using pwconv

I'm new at Unix, I want to convert user passwords and group passwords in the shadow suite using pwconv and pwunconv.

I'm basically stuck, if possible please help...

In this case reading a man page would be a good place to start. Open terminal and do:

man pwconv

Having said that, what is it exactly you are trying to achieve with pwconv? -modern distros already use shadow anyway.
