Question Connecting to internet problems

Ok, I installed OpenSuse 10.1, took a bit but got it.
Now I am trying to get connected to internet.

I have a Paradyne DSL modem

D-Link DI-605 router.

Realtek 8139 Ethernet card.

I have my DNS IP
The router IP

My ISP has a proxy connection I see in Firefox in Windows
The HTTP,FTP,SSL,Gopher,Socks are all the same and port 80
No Proxy for localhost.

How do I set the the network card first?
Do I do anything under DSL Devices?
Proxy Settings?
HTTP Server?
DNS Server?

I am totally lost ppl.

I have tryed different things, I get the Wired Connected, but no connection.

I need step by step instructions I think.

I doubt Realtek is supported by your distribution. You should look for an appropriate driver first, or else you may have to buy a new network card.

If I installed a different card, the internet would be up and running just like that? I am all new to this, so I am not trying to be ignorant.
