Connecting smart phone wirelessly with Linux mint PC

I have Linux mint 18.1 PC and want to connect my smart phone (Motorola 2nd Generation Andriod 6.0)with it wirelessly. Is there any package to do the same?
I actually intend to browse / transfer files between PC and smart phone.

Can you define wirelessly?
If you mean via wifi, then any established file sharing tech (samba, ftp...) would do.

I have two options:
1. I have same access point through which both are connected to net.
2. I can open hotspot on my phone and connect my laptop with it.

My Aim is to access files on phone through PC

One suggestion would be to use a sftp client to connect your phone to your PC. O
There are several options like andftp.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/techwis...r-android/amp/

There are also ssh/sftp servers you can run on your phone like sshdroid.

Would Bluetooth work? most newer Linux Distros support it out of the box. if your pc doesn't support it just get yourself a usb Bluetooth dongle.

I use an Android App called WiFi File Transfer Pro on My Motorola G4 mobile phone. The App runs a file server on your phone and provided your phone and PC are connected to the same network (In my case, my home LAN!) you point your browser at the IP address and port generated and displayed on the phone (Something like 192.168.0.15:1234) you can then transfer files back and forth till your hearts content via the browser! The App costs a few quid but is well worth it. The demo version doesn't allow files of any great size to be transferred but you could install to check if you like it.

The App doesn't care which OS you run on your computer provided you have a browser to point at it, it just works!

My

Play Bonny!

Take a look at Airdroid. You do not have to register for an account to use it locally.

Just be sure to turn it off when you aren't using it, or it will hit every wireless connection you come in range to.

I have had success with WifiFTPServer : https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tpserver&hl=en.

It should work with both your cases.

PS: Since it is a laptop, you could use an SD card for an one-off copy....
