Complete beginner and WINE

I have just got done compiling WINE. Of cource I did this so I can run all my nice windows programs on my new Mandrake 9.0. After it completely and succesfully compilied, I looked to see what it said:

*************************************************
*************************************************
The installed Wine libraries will not be found!
You can either:
Add the line '/usr/local/lib' to /etc/ld.so.conf
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib
*************************************************
*************************************************

this is after the "make install" command

I really wanted to compile this myself so I could get the best options from it.

I am sure this question has came up before and I will search some more on it, but until then.

well thanks for looking.

what you need to do is add this to /etc/ld.so.conf
Code:
/usr/local/lib
then run this
Code:
ldconfig
that will update the cache with the new libs

Yeah, that all worked for me, but I still am a little lost. I don't know what to do next after doing that and also tpying 'make depend && install'. I just get the error that I don't have enough arrguements for install.

As you can see I am a complete newbie to this. Do I have to specifiy a directory?

I am sure anyone, almost, could answer this question.

if ./configure runs without errors then I think you need to do

make

check again for errors, then do

make install

if that's not what the readme says go ahead and post the readme or a link to the install file your using
