Compiling Samba in Fedora x86_64
I have Fedora 1.92 (Core 2 Test 3) x86_64 running on my SK8V. When I upgraded from Core 1 to Core 2, samba stopped allowing me to mount Windows shares. According to a samba bugzilla report, this problem is a known bug that is fixed in the most recent version.

I have downloaded this version (samba-3.0.3). It compiles and installs OK. The only problem is that it installs to the wrong place (/usr/local/samba) and for some reason, Fedora has smbd & nmbd in /usr/sbin. I have tried playing around with the "--prefix" and "--exec-prefix" flags in the ./configure script with out much success.
Does anyone know how to compile and install samba on Fedora x86_64?
