I want to compile Audacity 1.2.3 in linux mandrake 10.1.

When I read the readme.txt file I found:

"Compilation instructions:

First you must download wxWidgets from:

http://www.wxWidgets.org/

If you install the RPM, make sure you install the devel RPM
as well, otherwise, you won't be able to compile Audacity
from source."

Then I go to the url mentioned and find a lot of downloads and no one talk about Linux Mandrake. Please help me. I don't know what modules I download, where I put the modules downloaded for extract it in the correct directories.
I think that the mentioned "devel" is still installed in my machine, but I'm not sure.

May someone give me a step-by-step explanation of what do I do?

I think there is an RPM for Audacity in Mandrake. Goto http://easyurpmi.zarb.org and setup your access to the repositories. Then go into the Mandrake Control Centre, into software installation and install it.
