Question Compile 2.6 kernel on Cygwin

Q: Can the 2.6.x kernel be compiled using Cygwin?

Basically, my home Linux PC's are older machines and they work fine. However, whenever I recompile the kernel, it takes a while.

I'm lucky at work that I have access to a Dual 3ghz machine that has Cygwin installed. I would like to compile the sources on that very capable machine, then transfer the outputs to my home PC's.

Has anyone tried this? Will it work?
