compatible speakers for kubuntu?

I am looking at some DELL A225 speakers on eBay and they are USB powered. This seems like a duh question but I just want to make sure. If my headphones work fine already (my sound driver is installed correctly), I should just be able to plug the speakers in and have them work right away, right? No drivers needed?

By USB powered does that mean they get power for the amplifier from USB and theres still an 1/8" audio cable ? or is that one of those setups where the audio comes in through the USB.. ?

If it's the former then yes it will work.

If it's the latter then I would avoid it..

OK thanks -

I ordered some different ones that have an AC adapter because I read that USB-powered speakers interfere with cell phones. I confirmed this with a friend whose speakers hiss as he is receiving a call on his phone.

Thanks anyway!
