Question colors when i ls


hi

when i ls to see files i dont see the colors anymore

its all just gray

this all happened after i set ls as an alias for ls -lh

so i set it back to ls and i get no color!

how can i get my color back? thanks

you need a /etc/DIR_COLORS or a ~/.dir_colors file like this...

COLOR tty
OPTIONS -F -T 0
.cmd 01;32
.exe 01;32
.com 01;32
.btm 01;32
.bat 01;32
.sh 01;32
.csh 01;32
.tar 01;31
.tgz 01;31
.arj 01;31
.taz 01;31
.lzh 01;31

Try using this alias instead:

alias ls='ls -lh --color=auto'
