cofigured jre is not referred while upgrading an application.

I have installed my application using rpm which requires >= jre 1.6. openjre is available in the same system but i am using the absolute path of the oracle jdk to exeucte my application. I am trying to updgrade my application to the latest version but it fails to upgrade because of the conflict in jre. Somehow it takes openjre path. i have verified /etc/alternatives , which is showing the default jre as openjdk. I have designed the spec file with the absolute path of the oracle jre. Why it is referring openjre instead oracle jre.

Thanks
Shriram

After installing jre i haven't executed update-alternatives. Thats'y i have used the absolute path of oracle jdk /usr/java/default in my code everywhere. Actually it should work right?
