Clustering in VirtualBox??


Hello Guys,

I am Virtual Box Installed on my Windows Xp System.Now I want to install a small red hat Clustering on that System.
How Can I make it happen
?

You can try following the RH Cluster manual on the RH website if you also have the Cluster Suite. If not here is a How To for CentOS. You should be able to follow it without getting lost. Good luck and post if you have trouble or get it working.

CentOS is the same source as RedHat but free and has the propriety RH software (i.e Cluster Suite) removed.

You will need some kind of shared storage. I don't use VirtualBox, but this is often implemented by using virtual SCSI, setting the bus to shared and disabling locking.

You could setup another machine that creates a iSCSI target instead to simulate a SAN.

The Cluster Project documentation as mentioned above should get you started easily.

Btw: there is also a CentOS installation DVD available that includes patches to Anaconda so that during the setup a whole Diskless Shared Root cluster may be configured.

This implements a RH cluster, formats the root filesystem with GFS and all nodes may access and work with it.
