changing/editing the kmenu

Ok i'm really new to linux but very familiar with pc's in general. I rencently made the jump to linux for good, and I will never return to windows. I'm having problems with editing the menu (that says Launch) on Linspire...I believe it's called the kmenu or kicker? Does anyone know an easy way to edit this? Maybe even adding to right click on desktop popup? Any help will be great!!!

First welcome to the forums

the easiest way that you can edit kmenu is to right click on the "K" or "Launch" and click "edit menu"

That doesn't help much, I want to resize it, change colors and change the text on the side that says "Linspire" to my name or w/e.

You have to be very specific in your initial posts, so that you don't get wrong anwers.

The "text" on the side is actually an image called kside.png. You have to create your own kside image and replace Linspires. As for resizing the menu, take a look at this web page. To change the menu colors, you have to fiddle around with your theme/style setttings in kcontrol.
