Question change of monitor from VGA to DVI

Hi,
I'm running OpenSuse 10.3 on my pc using a VGA monitor. The pc do have a DVI. Now I would like to attach a DVI monitor and I would like to know if it's just straight forward like shutdown the pc, connect the DVI monitor and boot, or do I need to do some preliminary steps?

If you use only one monitor it should work that way, yes.
