Change font Height

Seems I got my fonts looking decent by downloading a bunch of fonts and changing hinting to none, but i noticed that the identical fonts are vertically shorter than they are on OS X or windows. Any way to adjust that?

I wanted BIG console fonts, and someone recommended me to the terminus fonts by red hat. I grabbed them, and they go up to 32 pitch. Unfortunately, the terminal pukes on the 32 pitch, but I run 28 pitch as standard, with a 'setfont' command in rc.local. The terminal is fine on that.
