Hi
I have a few problems getting this to run on my windows xp machine (which btw I have to use for work). I got this running be installing it as Guest:"Linux" and Version:"Other Linux 2.6.x kernel". I also gave this a 20GB "hard drive" as well as I had problems with a 8GB "hard drive".
BTW don't enable the encryption - I couldn't get the VM to boot when I did.
I would suggest that CentOS doesn't understand the hard drive type supplied by vmware. Curious as to why you'd want to VMware CentOS on to a laptop tho, if it's not development for a CentOS or RHEL server I think you might be better off trying fedora anyway as CentOS is meant as a server, not a desktop.
