Angry cdrom help

Ok, I have some AVI, divx, xvid stuff on my cdrom, i have slackware 9.0, I have the cd in and it is mounted, i cannot see anything in /mnt/cdrom, could this be due to the fact that I do not have support for these ? I thought slackware came with a default movie player or ?? Where can i find a movie player or get codecs, how do I add codecs etc, competely new to this, THANKS BROS !

Sounds like 2 different issues...

For playing movies, your only choice should be:
www.mplayerhq.hu

For reading CD's, does it actually mount without errors?
mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

Or are you getting errors? If you are, post them up.

Did you recompile any kernels or is that the stock kernel?

Cool
