Cant Start X

Help, SuSe 9.0 on a ibm thinkpad. Everything has been working great until this morning. When starting X I recieve the following message.

Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local, removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/kwintv, removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID, removing from list!

waiting for Xserver to shut down
and then it goes back to prompt. I have no idea what happened or even where to begin to try to fix this.

Any help is appreciated.

i doubt those errors are at all relevant... look in the full log file and there should be some real error messages- look for liknes starting with "(EE)"
