cant run script while installing ATI drivers

im trying to install the ATI drivers to make my 9600XT work (i read the long thread about it) and when it tells me to run a so called make.sh script, i cant it. actually, i dont even know how.
it said to type:
./make.sh

so i did that and it tells me that the access is denied, even thought im in the root user.

anything i can do?

thx!
Apu
