Hi mkesling,

Could you please let us know which server is hosting NFS share. It will be good if you can paste /etc/exports file of the server hosting NFS share.

We would also like to have a look /var/log/messages from SuSE system. Make sure that you run the nfs mount command before pasting /var/log/messages here.

Are you able to telnet the server hosting NFS share from SuSE machine on port 2049?
