Alright, I finally got my comp fixed except for one part still.. it says for CD drive, No Drive Found. I got Windows reinstalled and I need to get my CD Drive workin. I checked all the cables and pretty sure they are right. There may be something in the BIOS that might be causing this, if anyone knows, lemme know. Any ideas of what you think may be wrong will help. Thanks
well, if you use a boot disk, it says that it cant install the ATAPI drivers because no Drive found. Also I tried dling the specific drivers for my CD drive and it said the same thing when i rebooted after installing the drivers. AND when u go into My Computer(dont kill me over this ) it only lists A: & C:
does that help??
Check to see if your CD is an SCSI device-- it would be device /dev/scd0. You can also check /etc/sysconfig/hwconf, which lists the devices on your system. Hope it helps.
Enter bios and make sure primary master and slave and secondary master and slave are set to auto.
Is the cd drive on the primary controller as slave(the same cable as hdd)or is it set to secondary controller as master ?
If it's on it's own cable,try a different cable.
Check to make sure you have the jumpers on the drives set correctly.
