Red face Canon IP1600 printer-system not modified issue

Hello everyone, and thanx in advance for your help.

I recently bought a used Canon IP1600 Inkjet Printer. It did not come with the cd-rom to install and set up this printer. I downloaded the driver. And i recieved a message saying my system is not modified.

Can anyone help me with solving this issue?

Canon is not Linux friendly. Turboprint offers a linux driver for the IP1600, but it is a pay for driver. Look into an HP printer, they are supported by linux.
