cannot install FC4 or FC5? Fedora CD not found?

I have a eMachine/eTower 400i series with 256MB RAM. I put in the first CD in the CD-ROM. It gives me the Fedora installation menu. I press <enter> and then all of the sudden. I get a message
Quote:
Fedora Core CD not found in any of your CDROM drives. Please, insert the Fedora Core CD and press ok to retry.
I already have the CD1 inside the CD-ROM. Then why do I keep getting this error. Is it not recognizing my CD-ROM? I have no idea what is going on? Do I need to replace my CD-ROM drive?

thanks in advance

The only time I've seen this problem is when either:

1- The master/slave jumper on the drive was set in a way the controller/BIOS didn't like, or
2- The drive was not listed or configured properly in the BIOS.

In the first case, make sure the hard drive is set as master and the CD is slave (if sharing an IDE interface), or both are master (if on separate interfaces).

In the second case, make sure the CD is configured as a CD drive in the BIOS configuration.

I fixed this problem. The CD-Rom was faulty. I replaced the CD-Rom. This box is running FC5 server now.
