cannot change directory to /home/user: Permission denied

Hai Guys,

I was created new user with password and while am tried to login that user as super user am facing the below error.

- Error
su - user
Last login: Tue Aug 14 10:44:34 PDT 2018 on pts/0
su: warning: cannot change directory to /home/user : Permission denied
-bash: /home/Expired/.bash_profile: Permission denied
-bash-4.2$

Can you clarify? Are you trying to "su" to the newly created user? Or are you just trying to login as the newly created user? Have you checked permissions of the new users home directory?

ls -l /home

If it is not owned by the user

Code:

chown -R username:username /home/username

Also, if you can put any terminal output in [code] [/code] tags, it makes it much more readable
