Can I use the same data folder for Thunderbird in linux and windows?

I want thunderbird to use the same folder for all its info. In thunderbird(linux) there is a option in the preference to change the directory folder. If install thunderbird in windows and make the directory there the main one and I point thunderbird in linux to the windows directory will I have to do any tweaking to get it to work?

Reason: I use ubuntu 90% of the time but when I run windows when I game I want to be able to check my email and not have both OS missing emails. I know I can move there 3434343default folder over and TB will pick it up but that will be a hassle to do it everyday.

You can make your thunderbird directory available on a samba share to both windows and linux, so theoretically it should be possible. I never tried it like that, though, so you should let us know if and how it worked in the end.

This might be possible. Now samba should not come into picture as it seems you are dual booting Ubuntu and windows. Thunderbird has recently put the support for pst files in the newer version. So, theoretically it should be possible.
