can't login suse 9.1 kde

Hello....a big time newbie here desperately trying to get away from M$.

I was able to successfully dual boot my laptop with suse 9.1 personal (downloaded edition). The install went fine and I created a root and a seperate user login and password. I had the user (bennettg) be able to auto-login.

For antoher reason, I had to use YaST to delete the bennettg account and setup a new non-root account with a different name. When I start Suse, I now get the following error message:

"Authenticating bennettg.........
A critical error occurred. Please look at KDM's logfile(s) for more information or contact your system administrator."

Once I hit ok, I get the login screen and have to enter the new username and password.

It appears that even though I deleted the bennettg account, it is still trying to auto login.

I attempted to repair the suse 9.1, but the download edition only does installs.

Can anyone help me to avoid having to go through this each time I want to use suse?

Thanks in advance......

A real nOOb

"It appears that even though I deleted the bennettg account, it is still trying to auto login."

Start kcontrol (Control center) as root. Click on System administration -> Login manager -> Convenience

Then either turn off Enable auto login
or
switch Preselect user to your new user name.
