Am trying a dual-boot installation of Ubuntu onto my Windows 7 PC. When I attempt the installation, there is only option to "install Ubuntu entirely" i.e. deleting everything else on Windows or "Something else". I have previously shrunk the volume successfully to around 30GB via Disk Management tool, restarted my PC, but the PC still does not give me an option to "install Ubuntu with Windows 7". Can anyone help???
Once you verify the partitions are proper, you could try using manual partitioning the Ubuntu installer to point the installer at the desired partition(s).
Last time I did this I fired up some live distro that had gparte on it (or I installed gparted) and partitioned the disk the way I wanted it.
Only then did I reboot into the actual distro installer.
Makes things easier IMO.
