Can't install Ubuntu 15.10

I attempted to install an OTA upgrade from 15.04 to 15.10. It failed and for some reason I lost my wifi connection with 15.04 (after the upgrade was rejected it reverted back to the previous install) I had a previous downloaded full version of 15.10 on DVD so I attempted a clean install The DVD won't boot. I had a previous 14.04 DVD and after connecting with an ethernet cable I have installed 14.04, it works fine but I can't upgrade. I purchased Ubuntu User magazine with a new 15.10 DVD and attempted a fresh install. It won't boot on the 64-bit side and goes into error's on the 32-bit side. I have taken a photo of the screen where the install stops hoping someone can decipher what is going wrong. If it's a hardware problem why does 14.04 install and run OK? If it's software where do I start to look? (rootkit?)

And that is going to help him how exactly?

Can you please refrain from posting if you have nothing of value to add, especially to a new thread (I.e. you're taking it off the zero response list w/o offering actual help)?

Cheers ,
Tink

I recommend keeping the installation to version 15.04

or buying the version 15.10.

The disk from the magazine was probably bad.

Personally I'd stick with 14.04 at least until 16.04 is released in April. I only use the LTS versions as the 9 month life for intermediate versions is just silly.

I also have a disc I downloaded and burnt myself.....I have also installed on a friend of mine computer from that disc, so it's OK.......

meh, 14.04 is nice but 15.10 is better .....? (no) (lolololol)

I'll prolly buy a new hdd and start anew............

The LTS version is well supported.

You should stick to this one.

I would like to know why, suddenly, I can't install anything more than 14.04. There is a reason and I would like to know what that reason is, is microsoft/apple secretly banning me from upgrading my exclusively Linux machine, is SCO setting me up for a law suite? Is Canonical cross with me? (nooooooooo)
