Flash drive is a 2gb one (which I had a lot of trouble getting hold of) as had read that it needed to be smaller than 2gb but that a 2gb was ok as it's actually only about 1.9gb. I formatted it to FAT16, downloaded the bios file. Extracted it to the flash drive, renamed it 900.rom, turned netbook off, Inserted flash drive, pressed alt f2 at bios screen, and it loaded the bios scren, but always got stuck at 'reading rom file' (left it for 2 hours first time and still stuck there).
Hi. I got the bios from the asus website. I don't know if netbook has EZ flash utility. Thanks for the video link - I did exactly what he did! (except my bios were for Eee 900). Have tried fat 16, fat 32, 8gb usb drive, smaller 1.9gb usb drive. I never get past 'reading file'. The only thing I can see that he did different on the video was plug the usb into the right side, not the left side. So maybe it is to do with this EZ flash thing?
Ok - got the Internet back again/Wi fi turned on again (it had been turned off in the boot menu).
A huge THANK YOU for your support today - I was about to throw the thing in the bin - and now it is working again and on top of that, my bios are updated. Now I just have to work out how to install the Supertalent SSd thingy. Best wishes and have a lovely day.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you for your support! Have not only got it working again, but bios updated, 64gb ssd installed and operating system installing now. THANK YOU.
