Can't Access USB Key in KDE

Hello all,

After Linux and KED are up I plug my USB key into a USB port but I don't see anything changing on the KDE screen to let me know that the system sees the USB key.

In Windows Explorer I can see the USB key right away so I know that the USB port is O.K.

How and where can I look to see if the USB key is seen by Linux and access the contents on the USB key. I know that the key looks like another drive.

The Destro I'm using is Centos5.1. Really another Red Hat version.

Thanks.

Insert the key and wait 5 secs. Then run the ' dmesg ' command and see the last ten lines. See if it sees a new /dev/sd**.

In Kde, open konqueror a few seconds after plugging in the key. Then look in /media and /mnt to see if a new folder has been added for the key.

In my SuSE installation, my key shows up as /media/usbdisk.

Post the last ten lines of dmesg to see if it is picking anything up after key is inserted?
