? Burning a DVD iso image

I have a question regarding burning DVD iso images. Do you need special hardware to accomplish this (DVD/CD burner) or is it possible with a regular cd burner. Also, do you need special discs?

I ask this because I am trying to burn the Fedora 8 DVD image to a cd (just a regular 700mb cd, obviously not large enough for 3.4 gb img) and am unable to do so. Thank you.

(1) You need a DVD writer which by default also write CDs.

(2) You need DVD discs.

K3B will just write it.
