Broadcom STA for Ubuntu 11.04 & >?

(where) can i get broadcom STA driver, or equivelent that works on ubuntu 11.04 & >? if this is not possible is there a linux distro that will work with my hardware? i have 'till oct to figure this out or will have to reinstall the gatesean V-word to get a supported OS.

oops, sorry, i'm new at this.let's start over. this is what the terminal tells me.

~$ lspci -vvnn | grep 14e4
05:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)
08:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX [14e4:170c] (rev 02)

the computer is a dell inspiron 1501. amdsempron 3500+ cpu. i am currently using maverick 10.10 and broadcom STA works fine. it disappears when i upgrade. nothing i find in software center and install, even this same driver, works when using 11.04. if i install from software center would it still need an immediate upgrade? i reinstalled 10.10 to make the machine useful and don't want to go through that again unless i have a reasonable chance of success.

Installed Mint 12 Debian, fwcutter, B43. In that order. It's a rough version but I'm back online. Hadn't heard of Mint 'til LQ so thanks for being.
PS Do not, repeat NOT, use Jockey.

Impossible to answer since you didn't tell us what "your hardware" is. But welcome to the forums!

Here are complete instructions for Broadcom on Ubuntu.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Driver/bcm43xx

The most important step is the first one: "Identifying your card/driver." Why don't you do that and then post back with the information.
