[SOLVED] brightness keys not working in linux mint 19.3

working on legion y540 with ndivia card just installed mint but my brightness keys are not working, even though i installed brightness controller but i would be a lot grateful if u can help me fix my keys.

Welcome to LQ forums.

Open a Terminal and install gedit:

sudo apt install gedit

Then give this command:

sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia.conf

and add the following line (immediately below the line Option "AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration"):

Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1;"

Save the file and reboot.
