Brand Newbie can't connect to his Windows shares at home

OK folks, I've browsed around the forum a bit, and you guys are way over my head, but here goes anyway.
I'm running my first linux system on a Dell mini, connecting to a wireless network that was set up simply to share internet access through a linksys router (first time I've done that too). I managed to connect to the internet no problem, but can't seem to locate or connect to the shared files from the 2 windows (xp) computers that are sharing. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!

Yes, Dell uses Ubuntu.

To connect to your Windows shares as though they are a disk connected you your system, you need smbfs. You should be able to open Synaptic, the graphical installation tool in Ubuntu, just search for it. You could also install from the command line using:

Code:
sudo apt-get install smbfs
This guide should get you set up and working.

You said you have the Dell mini, are you referring to the Inspiron Mini9 netbook?
