Question Brand New to Linux (RH8)

Hello to all and thanks in advance for helping me. I am totally new to Linux. First day.

I have gotten on the internet, amazingly enough. Connected to my LAN at home and now I am trying to lfigure out how to get my DVD working.

The device shows as CDROM1 (this is a DVD!)

How can I view the DVD movies. Better yet, what do I do to install the drivers or program to run DVD's and get this working. Please talk to me like a baby, just starting learning this stuff.

Thanks

Bernard

search google for "mplayer" and don't expect too much hand holding from people on linux. if that's what you want then buy a book. or buy a copy of redhat 8 from circuit city and get the tech support - put money into the pockets of the people that are changing tech!

; )

while your at it donate some money to fsf.org
