Booting PowerPup

I got a apple PowerBook 3400c with upgraded ram.
I would like to boot linux on it but the ram is still not huge (96MB).
I burned PowerPup to a CD but it would not boot and kept booting macOs 9.

1) did you check the md5sum of the iso you downloaded and compare it to the md5sum of the iso at the site from which you downloaded?

2) is the BIOS of that PowerBook set to poll the cd drive before the hard drive in search of a bootable OS?

3) have you tried to boot the cd on another Apple machine, just to be sure the cd drive in your PowerBook isn't at fault?

4) Did you burned the iso as an iso?

Kind regards
