Boot loader on floppy needed

Greetings to all.
I want to install linux (suse) on a laptop, using an external cdrom device but the cd is non-bootable.
My guess is i should create a boot floppy but i don't know how (what to put inside, etc.)
Can someone help me or post a link for me?
Thanx in advance!
